Where are they now?

Here's a round-up of what some of the artists who have played Read the Fanzine / Keep your ears Peeled have been up to since they last played the night.

Rod Thomas's career has been going from strength to strength between playing Glastonbury (Avalon tent), New York, and is embarking on a national tour early in 2008 - including Liverpool at The Barfly on 19th February. His single was picked up as single of the week on the Australian Itunes site, and he was nominated for an Indy award as Best Solo artist. I think we'll be hearing a lot more from him in the future - check out the rather sweet video for "Your love is a tease" below.

Suki from The Real Heat has been voted #43 in NME's Cool List 2007, and were featured on the new NME TV channel on Sky TV. If anything, I'm surprised she's not higher in the list! I remember being on the phone to her at 8.30pm - when they were due on stage at 9pm! They jumped in a taxi from Brixton to London Bridge, had a drink and went straight on with no sound check or nothing - and still sounded good - cool as you like. XFM's John Kennedy is a big fan and has had them in for a session (Fnar Fnar) They're also being featured regularly in fashion magazines and have been touring Europe, and look like they've got a bright future ahead, though they might need to edit out some of the language before they get played on daytime radio!

Kaputt who played our first live night, have been featured on Marc Riley's show on 6 Music, and have recorded sessions for XFM

Smith 6079 are playing to bigger and bigger crowds, and their debut single was #1 on Amazon's pre-order chart - check out the polished video below.

Claire Toomey was nominated, and performed at the Indy awards (see video below) and switched on the Christmas lights in Croydon.

More as I hear anything!
